This multi-input power supply buck-boost converter fits on top of a Raspberry Pi (any sort!) and lets you power it with up to 3 different input ports, so you can keep powered no matter what your battery or power plug situation.
This add-on has 3 separate input channels. One is a micro USB port, best used with USB wall adapters. The second one is an XH 2.54mm 2-pin connector for 0.1" pitch cables. Finally, there is an SMT terminal block for bare wires, you can press down on the flexi-latch and insert stranded or solid core wires.
All input channels can accept 3.5~28V DC, and Zero2Go Omini will select the one with highest voltage. That voltage is then either boosted (if its under ~5V) or bucked (if its over ~5V) to a clean and regulated power output. How to tell which mode is being used? Check the indicator LED on Zero2Go Omini: blue means step-up/pass-though, green means step-down. The converter can provide up to 2A, so it's good for powering your larger Pi's, even ones with small displays, radios, sensors, or accessories.
There's a small microcontroller on-board that can manage the on-board button as an on-off control, UPS (uninterruptable-power-supply) configuration settings, and the LEDs. The microcontroller an be configured with included software to your heart's content. There's also various pads and jumpers for reprogramming the chip, or configuring the pin connections.
