SparkFun GPS Breakout - Chip Antenna, SAM-M10Q (Qwiic)
The SparkFun GPS Board with Chip Antenna (Qwiic) features the latest u-blox SAM-M10Q receiver, delivering improved accuracy, faster fixes, and nearly half the power consumption compared to the previous M8 generation. Designed as a drop-in successor to earlier M8Q-based boards, the SAM-M10Q supports simultaneous reception of up to four GNSS constellations, dramatically improving positional reliability and time-to-fix—even in challenging environments with limited sky visibility.
Equipped with a built-in chip antenna and full L1-band compatibility (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS), this compact module achieves 1.5m horizontal accuracy with update rates up to 18Hz (single constellation). A rechargeable 3V backup battery maintains satellite data for rapid 1-second hot starts, while dual Qwiic connectors enable effortless solderless integration into I2C systems. For advanced configuration, the board supports UART and I2C communication and is fully configurable using u-blox’s u-center2 software, making it ideal for drones, asset tracking, robotics, and IoT positioning projects.
