Rotary Encoder Module
The EC11 series is a mechanical incremental rotary encoder used for menu navigation, volume adjustment and parameter control. It produces two phase-shifted digital signals that indicate rotation and direction. Models are available with various shaft lengths, detent counts and pulse ratings.

Board Layout
This specific breakout board is excellent because it includes onboard pull-up resistors (R1 to R4) and capacitors (C1, C2). This provides hardware debouncing, which makes reading the encoder much smoother and removes the need for complex software debouncing logic on the rotation pins.
