Camera for the ESP32-P4 and Raspberry Pi
The Raspberry Pi Camera Module v1.3 uses the 5-MP OV5647 CMOS sensor, delivering 2592×1944 stills and 1080p video via a 15-pin CSI ribbon. It’s compatible with the DFRobot FireBeetle 2 ESP32-P4 AI Vision board (DFR1172), which features a 2-lane MIPI-CSI port pin-compatible with Raspberry Pi cameras for embedded vision projects.

Resources
Two common “it won’t work” gotchas
- Ribbon cable orientation / seating (the DFRobot guide even calls out which side faces contacts).
- Using Arduino IDE instead of ESP-IDF — DFRobot notes MIPI-CSI is ESP-IDF-only right now.
