Spot Welder 8 Step 1200A with Display
Spot welding (also known as resistance spot welding) is a resistance welding process. This welding process is used primarily for welding two or more metal sheets together by applying pressure and heat from an electric current to the weld area. It works by contacting copper alloy electrodes to the sheet surfaces, whereby pressure and electric current are applied and heat is generated by the passage of current through resistive materials such as low carbon steels.
This control board has a single 7 segment display and button for changing the output power. Adding a 12V battery will become an energy storage spot welding machine for welding nickel pieces such as lithium batteries and nickel-chromium batteries. According to different configurations, the thickness can be about 0.1mm-0.15mm
Usage Steps:
- Properly connect the battery or power supply before turning on the device
- Once the control board is correctly connected to the battery, you will hear a beep, indicating successful power-on, and the digital display will activate
- Use the button to adjust the spot welding power. The 1st gear represents the lowest power setting, while the 8th gear is the highest. Adjust the power according to your spot welding requirements.
Spot Welding Technique:
- Place the nickel sheet on the battery electrode's surface that you intend to weld
- Use a test pen to gently tap the nickel sheet at an angle, then tap it again with another test pen
- Keep the distance between the two test leads slightly closer for welding to trigger
- If the solder joint turns black, reduce the power level. If the molten pool is too small, increase the power level
Important Precautions:
- When the system is powered on, the digital display will show "0," indicating that welding is not possible. You need to adjust the output power (1-8 gears) using the button
- It is recommended to use a power supply with a voltage between 7V and 16V, and the working current should be within the range of 100-300A. Exceeding these limits may cause damage to the control board.
Please Note that this spot welder is only compatible with specific types of batteries. If an incompatible battery is used, the unit may not work as intended.
