TR8 Anti-Backlash Nut - POM 2mm

This TR8x8 anti-backlash metric lead screw nut is compatible with our 8mm diameter TR8x8 leadscrews. The diameter and pitch offer a great combination of high torque and speed capabilities, which is why it is one of the most used and popular leadscrew and nut combination for 3D printers, CNC machines, and other linear motion equipment.

This delrin nut features a round flanged surface with four 3.5mm holes, making mounting a breeze to the rest of your machine. The nut has a pitch of 2mm, with four starts, resulting in a lead of 8mm. This means that there is 8mm of travel per revolution of the leadscrew. This is a great alternative to the classic Brass Anti-Backlash Leadscrew Nut, but also offers a lower friction coefficient and as such also typically lasts for a longer lifespan than copper as well.

The benefits of using POM (Delrin) instead of brass include the fact that Delrin offers reduced resistance due to friction, as well as a longer lifespan since POM is naturally self-lubricating. This results in less wear and tear but more consistent accuracy over time when compared to harder materials like brass.

How the Anti-backlash mechanism Works?

The assembly consists of a main nut body and a secondary ring. There is a spring in-between the two which force each part against opposing flanks of the screw thread, effectively creating a bias which takes up any backlash during movement.
