The Adafruit SGP41 Multi-Pixel Gas Sensor Breakout is an advanced air quality sensing solution designed to detect both volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and nitrogen oxides (NOx). Built around Sensirion’s next-generation SGP41 sensor, it features dual metal-oxide (MOX) sensing elements—one dedicated to VOC detection and the other to NOx—providing more detailed and accurate environmental data compared to earlier sensors. With an onboard microcontroller handling signal processing and heater control, the module delivers clean digital output via I2C, simplifying integration into your projects.
Unlike traditional gas sensors, the SGP41 provides processed VOC and NOx index values (1–500 scale) using Sensirion’s Gas Index Algorithm, making it ideal for monitoring indoor air quality trends. The module also supports humidity and temperature compensation for improved accuracy when paired with an external sensor. Designed in the STEMMA QT/Qwiic form factor, it enables quick, solderless connections and easy daisy-chaining with other I2C devices, making it perfect for Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and other embedded platforms.
