DF Robot Serial Bus Servo Shield

The DF Robot Serial Bus Servo Shield makes it simple to control multiple Dynamixel AX series servos directly from your Arduino board. By supporting daisy-chain connections, this shield allows you to build advanced robotic projects such as robotic arms, hexapods, or humanoid robots without complex wiring.

With its built-in half-duplex circuit, the shield uses a single UART line to communicate with all connected servos. Commands can be broadcast to all units or addressed to a specific servo via its unique ID. Supporting 200+ servos, each servo can return real-time feedback including position, speed, torque, temperature, and current. This makes it possible to use the AX servos as precision gear motors for wheeled or tracked robots. Designed with an Arduino Uno R3 layout, the shield is beginner-friendly while also providing deeper development options through UART and SPI interfaces.
