DF Robot Gravity SFA40 Formaldehyde (HCHO) Sensor

The DFRobot Gravity SFA40 Formaldehyde Sensor is a high-precision electrochemical module designed for accurate indoor air quality monitoring without false alarms. Powered by the Sensirion SFA40 sensing element, this module specifically detects formaldehyde (HCHO) while minimizing interference from common household substances such as alcohol, cleaning products, and perfumes. With cross-sensitivity to ethanol below 0.3%, it ensures that elevated readings reflect genuine formaldehyde presence rather than everyday environmental changes.



Capable of detecting concentrations as low as 20 ppb within a 0–1000 ppb range, the sensor delivers laboratory-grade sensitivity for smart homes, HVAC systems, air purifiers, and environmental monitoring projects. An integrated SHT4x temperature and humidity sensor provides automatic environmental compensation, maintaining measurement stability across varying climate conditions. With low power consumption and a standard Gravity interface (3.3–5V compatible), it is ideal for both embedded and portable air quality applications.
